Michelle Davies
Michelle Davies is a budding singer songwriter who spent her early childhood on a rustic wooden sailboat in the Caribbean.
Influenced by island life and her mother’s color coded cassette collection, she combines the lyrical storytelling of folk music with surf-pop inspired rhythms and arrangements, dubbing her unique style “Island Folk Music”.
For her teenage and college years, Michelle lived in rural and central Oregon, where she dabbled in music and performing arts. She eventually graduated with a degree in General Science and Massage Therapy and set off for a decade of seasonal jobs and slow travel.
Through years of long bus rides, cross country drives, and trans-ocean sails, she sketched dozens of ideas for songs, pulling inspiration from her personal experiences, and from musical influences such as Bob Dylan, Brett Dennen, Jack Johnson, Brandi Carlile, and Anais Mitchell.
In November of 2019, she settled on the west coast of Puerto Rico, launching her massage career, and building a home where she could finally focus on music. She built a network of local musicians, crashing their gigs and cutting her teeth playing live at local restaurants.
In March of 2025, with the help of a local recording engineer and a team of talented musicians, she began recording Gemini Moon, her debut five track album of cathartic love songs.
Gemini Moon is set to release gradually, starting at the end of 2025.
